Almstead Tree, Shrub & Lawn Care

About Almstead Tree, Shrub & Lawn Care

Out at Ward Acres the field stone walls run on through the brush, older than the streets that grew up around them, and in October the grass along their base goes the color of weak tea. Almstead Tree, Shrub & Lawn Care takes its measure of New Rochelle from ground like that — glacial rock never far under the sod, drainage that changes within a single yard, turf that has to be fed rather than forced. Autumn is the honest season for lawn work here: the cleanup, the aeration, the seed pressed into cool soil while there is still warmth left in it. Done right, the reward comes months later, in the even sweep of April green that makes a property look settled and kept. It is unhurried work, and the streets from Pinebrook down toward Eastchester show it plainly enough.
