Some September morning in New City the dew refuses to burn off until mid-morning, and every lawn in the hamlet looks polished from the road. The Turf Lab works toward exactly that — mowing on a steady cycle, trimming and edging, and putting the fall cleanup in when the turf can still make use of the light. Rockland gets a proper autumn, long enough that grass recovers from the summer if somebody is paying attention to it. Careful cutting height, clean lines, and leaves off before they mat down: that is most of the trade right there. New City and the Clarkstown streets around it, kept on schedule.
