About Fieldstone Landscape Services

Winter comes to New City off the reservoir, wind crossing the open water of Lake DeForest and finding every driveway on the far side. Fieldstone Landscape Services answers those storms with plows and shovels — driveways cleared from curb to garage door, walks opened to the step, ice knocked back with salt where the shade keeps it. Rockland County snow is a moody sort of snow, wet and heavy one night and fine and blowing the next, so the plan bends to the storm and the route runs until it is finished. Dusk falls early in January and the work often ends under floodlights, the last pass throwing a clean line along the edge of the asphalt. Morning finds the cars able to leave, which is the whole ambition.
