About DJ Groundskeeping

Wind crosses Lake DeForest in February with nothing to slow it down, and the driveways on that side of New City can drift over twice in a single night. DJ Groundskeeping plans for the second time — plowing, opening walks, and putting salt and sand where the wind repacks whatever was already moved. Rockland's clay ground holds the cold, so a surface that looked clear at dusk can glaze over by nine o'clock. The craft lives in details: stacking snow downwind, keeping the apron wide, leaving an edge that will not collapse under the next storm. New City, Congers and Valley Cottage, kept open through the winter.
