About American Field Services Inc

The Pascack Valley trains still run through Nanuet in a storm, and the pavement around them has to be walkable when they do. American Field Services Inc works that shift — plowing, shoveling and spreading through the long middle hours of a nor'easter, when snow stops being scenery and turns into a problem to solve. Rockland weather has a habit of turning over on itself: a wet inch, then a hard freeze that welds it to the ground. So the passes come more than once, and the salt goes down where the sun will not reach until March. Clearing ground here is unglamorous, repeated work, and the result is a walkway somebody uses without giving it a second thought.
