About A & J Reliable Inc.

Snow arrives in Nanuet quietly, the way it always does — first on the low ground west of the Hackensack's headwaters, then along Route 59 while the storefronts are still dark. A & J Reliable Inc. is out in it, plowing drives and lots across this corner of Clarkstown before the first commuter reaches for a windshield scraper. A blacktop apron cleared corner to corner, salted along the shaded edge where ice likes to hide, finished before sunrise — that is the part worth taking pride in. Nanuet sits low and open enough that wind stacks drifts against garage doors overnight, and the job is knowing where that happens and getting there first. By the time the county wakes, the morning looks ordinary again, which is the whole point.
