Fulmer Creek comes off the hills and runs straight through the middle of the village before it reaches the Mohawk, and the yards on either side of it green up early. Mohawk lawn and landscaping mows those village lots and the wider places out toward the flats, working around porch steps and hydrants and edging the sidewalk line clean along the older streets. Spring brings bed work and fresh mulch; autumn brings leaves, and there are enough big maples here to make that a season of its own. Grass cut at the right height and blown clear of clippings still looks good four days later, which is the measure that matters. The canal town wears a trimmed lawn well.
