Winter reaches Yates County on the wind off Lake Ontario, and the squalls come through Milo in bands — bright sky, then an hour of white, then bright sky again. McCarthy's LCS Lawn Mowing & Landscape plows through all of it, opening driveways and walks so the morning starts on bare pavement instead of a shovel. Come April the trucks trade the blade for the mower, and the year turns to weekly cutting, trimming and edging. There is real satisfaction in both results: a drive cleared before the coffee is done, and a lawn striped even in July. Two halves of one calendar, one property, looked after either way.
