Oatka Creek slides through the Middlebury countryside past hayfields and gray barns, and over in Wyoming village the gas lamps still come on along the street at dusk. ACK Lawncare mows the lawns in between — the in-town yards on their weekly turn and the long farmhouse lawns that take a whole afternoon. Wyoming County summers are green and generous, second cutting in the fields and grass that keeps asking for attention. The trimmer goes tight to posts, stone and barn corners, borders get cut where lawn meets drive, and the clippings are swept off before the truck pulls away. In autumn the leaves come off and the place is set for the quiet months. Middlebury, Wyoming, Warsaw, Attica, Pavilion and Perry.
