Marcellus sits in a fold of the hills where Nine Mile Creek cuts down toward the valley floor, and snow gathers in that fold generously. Award Winning Landscapes runs plows through it — driveways opened, turnarounds widened, walkways shoveled, salt laid where the grade gets slick. Storms off Lake Ontario tend to arrive overnight, so most of the work happens in headlights and falling flakes. There is something worth being proud of in a drive cleared to the pavement while the house is still dark. By the time coffee is on, the car can back straight out to the road.
