About McKune Family Hardscaping, Greenhouse & Gifts

April in this corner of Cattaraugus County is a negotiation — sun on Monday, sleet by Thursday, and everybody watching the yard for the first real green. McKune Family Hardscaping, Greenhouse & Gifts opens the season by raking out what winter left, cutting the first grass of the year and putting the edges back where they belong. By June the lawns along Route 16 are deep and cut on a rhythm, mown and trimmed close around the beds and the walk. What the work leaves behind is a place that looks tended from the road, which is the part neighbors actually notice. Machias, Lime Lake, Delevan and Ellicottville are all on the list.
