In Baldwinsville the river drops over the dam beside Lock 24, and on a still afternoon that sound carries all the way up the village streets. RJP Landscaping keeps the lawns above that water — mowing, string trimming, edging and the cleanups a Central New York yard needs at both ends of the year. Village lots here are tight, full of corners, fences and old trees, and doing them well is mostly a matter of the trimmer rather than the mower. Out in the town's open ground it is the opposite: long passes, straight stripes, a horizon of hayfields. Either way the finished yard is the point, and it is a fine thing to drive past afterward.
