About Amell’s Tree and Property Services

In Long Lake the water is really the Raquette River taking its time, stretched thin and shining between the pines. Amell's Tree and Property Services works the short bright season here, when the mountain light comes over Owls Head early and the dew burns off a dooryard by nine. Mowing, trimming and seasonal cleanup on ground that is more rock and root than topsoil — every lawn in this hamlet is a small argument won against the forest. They keep the edges honest along Route 30, around camps and year-round houses alike, so the green stops where it should and the woods begin where they should. By the time a floatplane climbs off the water in the afternoon, the work is done and the yard looks like someone loves it.
