About Valley Tree & Landscape Service, Inc.

Long Beach sits on a sandbar between the Atlantic and Reynolds Channel, and everything green here grows in salt wind. Valley Tree & Landscape Service, Inc. keeps the small, hard-won lawns of the island cut and trimmed — the strips behind the boardwalk blocks, the yards over toward the bay, the patches of grass holding on between beach grass and pavement. September is the good month for it, the crowds thinned and the light gone long and gold across the water. Mowing, a tight pass around fences and steps, an edge where lawn meets walk, and cleanups once the fall wind starts stripping the beds. A trim green yard within earshot of the surf is a small, stubborn pleasure.
