Leo's Landscaping

About Leo's Landscaping

April on the island is forsythia first, then everything at once. The lawns come out of winter salt-burned and matted, and somebody has to wake them up. Leo's Landscaping runs the first cuts of the year, edging the walks back to their true lines, trimming out the winter litter, setting a mowing rhythm that will hold until November. There is a particular pleasure in that first pass — the smell of it, the stripes appearing where there was only grey. East along Lido Boulevard the yards green up a week apart from one another, and the route follows that wave until, by May, it reads as one continuous lawn.
