McCormick's Property Maintenance

About McCormick's Property Maintenance

Lockport keeps a staircase in the middle of itself — the old canal locks stepping water down through the heart of downtown, stone by stone. McCormick's Property Maintenance works the yards on the streets above that line, mowing to a steady weekly rhythm, trimming tight along fences and foundations, edging until the grass stops in one clean line at the walk. There is a certain June morning here when the cut is still damp and the whole block smells green at once, and that morning is what the week is built around. Spring and fall bring the other half of it: beds cleared, leaves gathered, sticks off the lawn before the mower ever starts. Ordinary work, done with attention, on streets where people notice a good edge.
