The village streets around Johnson Park keep their old shade trees, and the lawns beneath them are small, particular, and much walked past. Bertolero's Lawn and Landscape keeps them looking their part — regular mowing, trimming and edging around beds and walkways, and cleanups in spring and fall. Working tight village lots is a different craft than open acreage: everything is close, everything is visible, and there is no room for a sloppy line. Late May is the height of it, when the grass thickens and the whole block goes green at once. A finished lawn here belongs to the street as much as to the house.
