Wrangling the Seasons

About Wrangling the Seasons

March in Le Ray can hand you a snowbank and a robin inside the same hour. Wrangling the Seasons takes the year exactly as it comes — plowing, shoveling and salting while the storms keep arriving, then mowing, trimming, edging and cleanups once the fields let go of the last gray drifts. This corner of Jefferson County does not do gentle transitions; the calendar counts for less than the sky does. Handling both ends means a property never falls into that in-between neglect where winter's mess is still sitting under spring's first growth. Kept ground looks intentional in any month, and that is what the name is about.
