Peachey's Lawn Care

About Peachey's Lawn Care

September mornings in Le Ray arrive with fog on the low ground and dew heavy enough to soak a boot to the ankle. Peachey's Lawn Care waits out the burn-off and then goes to work — mowing, trimming, edging, and the long fall cleanups that follow the maples down. Grass grows slower now and cuts cleaner, and the stripes hold for days at a time. Out toward Evans Mills the fields are taking a last cutting, and there is something companionable about working the same weather as everybody else. A yard put to bed properly in November comes up better in May, which is the sort of patience this country teaches.
