At four in the morning the north end of Conesus Lake is one long sheet of dark, and the only thing moving on 20A is a plow light crawling the edge of it. ALandscape & Design does the snow work around Lakeville — clearing driveways and lots, opening walkways, and salting the spots where ice sets up first. Livingston County storms come in off the open farmland with nothing to slow them, so the drifts pile against the hedgerows and the same lane can need a second pass before daylight. The measure of a night like that is simple: a driveway already cut clean when the porch light comes on, and a path to the door where nobody has to guess at their footing. Then it's on to the next one, out toward Livonia, Lima and Geneseo, ahead of the morning.
