The old rail bed through Lagrangeville is a paved trail now, running straight past backyards and hedgerows where the grass grows thick by late May. Benny's Lawn and Tree Care keeps those properties on a weekly cut, mowing long clean passes across the open sections and trimming in carefully around trunks, posts and stone. The borders along the drive get cut so the gravel and the green each keep to themselves. When the leaves come down through October the cleanups begin — raking, clearing beds, hauling the piles away ahead of the snow. Benny's works Lagrangeville and LaGrange and out to Poughkeepsie, Pleasant Valley, Millbrook and Wappingers Falls.
