About Snowplow Doctor

Hertel Avenue at three in the morning after a heavy fall is one long white shelf, every parked car a soft shape and every driveway a problem waiting on daylight. Snowplow Doctor takes the call at that hour — plowing out drives and lots across North Buffalo, cutting walkways and steps clear, putting salt down where a shoveled edge would otherwise turn to glass. Storms off the lake rarely arrive once; they come in waves, and the route gets run again. There is a plain pride in backing off a finished driveway and seeing dark pavement where an hour ago there was nothing but drift. The neighborhood gets its morning because somebody was out in the middle of the night.
