In September the wind comes straight off the water along Lackawanna's shore road, gulls riding it inland, and the grass finally slows into its best color of the year. Olivieri Lawn Care & Landscaping likes this stretch of the season — mowing that stays even, trimming that holds, borders cut sharp enough to last the week. Earlier there is the steady cut through the fast growth of June and July; later there is the raking and hauling that closes a yard down for the cold. Every property gets left with its lines squared and the clippings gone. The route runs through Lackawanna, Blasdell, Hamburg, West Seneca and into Buffalo.
