About 5 Star Plowing & Landscaping

Lake Erie writes Lackawanna's winter in long bands off open water, and the turbines standing on the old steel lakefront turn all night above it. 5 Star Plowing & Landscaping works those hours — blade down on driveways and lots while the streetlights are still on, walks shoveled and salted so the first step outside lands on solid ground. When the wind finally swings south, the same trucks come back for mowing, trimming and edging, and for the raking and hauling that open and close the growing year. There is a plain, sturdy pleasure in a drive cleared down to the blacktop before anyone is awake to see it, and in a lawn whose line along the sidewalk runs true. Lackawanna gets both halves of the calendar, and so do Blasdell, Hamburg, West Seneca and South Buffalo.
