Kingston snow

About Kingston snow

There is a certain morning here when the phone lights up with school closings and the whole city goes soft-edged and white. Kingston snow is already out in it — plowing driveways and lots, cutting walkways down to the surface, laying salt where ice will form once the sun quits. The alarm rings in the middle of the night for storms that arrive that way, and again at the tail end for the ridge the city plow leaves across your apron. Snow keeps its own schedule, so the work keeps it too. Open by breakfast is the whole idea.
