The country north and west of Jamestown, out through Sinclairville and Cassadaga and the hills past Panama, changes its mind about the weather faster than a forecast can follow. M and M Enterprises of WNY works both halves of that year, mowing, trimming and edging through the green months, running cleanups in spring and again when the hills drop their leaves, then plowing, shoveling and salting once the lake starts making snow instead of rain. Between October and April a driveway can go from wet leaves to eight inches in a single week. Showing up on the right day with the right machine is most of the craft, and the rest is finishing the corners.
