The wind off the south end of Cayuga finds you at Stewart Park in every month of the year — warm and green in July, knife-edged in January. Mr Outside works in all of it: mowing, trimming and edging Ithaca yards through the growing season, then plowing driveways and clearing walks once the lake starts throwing snow inland. Being outdoors for a living means knowing the sky — what an afternoon build-up over the hills will do to a mowing schedule, how much a night band off the water will drop before dawn. The satisfaction is the same in either season, a property handed back to the people who live there, orderly and usable. Weather comes; the work goes on around it.
