Hollowcut Lawn Co

About Hollowcut Lawn Co

After a cold November rain, Fall Creek pours over Ithaca Falls in a broad white sheet, and mist hangs in the hollow below well into the afternoon. Hollowcut Lawn Co carries a name that suits a town carved by water into gorges and glens. Late in the year the work turns to readying Ithaca lawns for the cold: a final cut or two at the right height, trimming along walks, and the last stray leaves and clippings gathered off the turf. Grass that goes into winter tidy greens up faster when the hills thaw. It is a finish worth noticing on a walk home past the falls, collar turned up against the season's first real bite.
