From spring into September the ferries leave Bay Shore for Fire Island all day long, and Patchogue keeps its own boats moving on the other side of the line. Lawn Pride of Patchogue-Bay Shore works the ground in between — mowing, edging, trimming and seasonal cleanups on the yards that fill this run of the shore. Summer here is busy and public; a lawn is the first thing anyone sees of a house, and it either looks tended or it does not.
