Some mornings the fog sits over Island Park until nine, softening every hedge into a gray suggestion of itself, and then it lifts and the lines are all still there. Scenic Sculptor works those lines — hedges and shrubs pruned to form, lawns mown even, edges cut sharp where the turf meets walk and driveway. Mulch goes down dark around the beds so the green reads greener against it. It's a shaping job more than a cutting job: deciding what a yard wants to be, then holding it there week over week from the first growth through the last cleanup. On a village lot this size, a few clean curves do more than an acre of anything else.
