About Crooker Cuts, LLC

Late in August, when the light goes long and gold over Newtown Creek, the mowing hours in Horseheads stretch until the dew comes back down. Crooker Cuts, LLC spends that stretch on lawns and borders, trimming out along fence lines and walks until a yard looks finished rather than merely cut. Then the calendar turns, the first white shows on the hills north of the village, and the same trucks head out with plows to open driveways and shovel paths clear. Two kinds of work, one rhythm — keep the ground underfoot the way people want it. Around Horseheads and the towns just beyond, that is the whole of the job.
