About Johnston landscaping

Hornby sits up on the ridges, hill farms and woodlots and long views down toward Corning, and the wind finds you here well before it finds anyone in the valley. Lawns on this high ground are wide and uneven, running out to a hedgerow or a stand of maples, so mowing them is half work and half navigation. Johnston landscaping keeps them cut and trimmed, with the edges tightened where the drive meets the grass. An August afternoon up here runs a few degrees cooler than town, the light coming low and clean across the ridge. Once the woodlots let go, the fall cleanups start and carry the year out.
