About ACS Land and Snow Services, LLC.

The storms that matter here climb the coast and swing inland, and by three in the morning Fulton Avenue is one white lane with no tire tracks in it. ACS Land and Snow Services works that hour, plowing lots and driveways down to bare blacktop, cutting walks wide enough for a stroller, spreading salt where meltwater will glaze over before sunrise. Snow on this part of the Island rarely falls dry; it packs, it slicks, it hides the curb line, so the job is as much about knowing where the edges are as about pushing. By the time the shutters go up on the storefronts and the buses start their loops, the ground underneath is dark, gritty and walkable. That is the entire purpose of a night like that.
