About Jacob Enterprises

Two in the morning, snow coming sideways across the farm lanes off Route 416, and a truck out working while the town sleeps. This is snow removal and nothing else: driveways and lots opened up, walkways cleared down to the concrete, ice knocked back with salt or sand before it can set. Long rural drives in Hamptonburgh need a plow that will make the whole trip, not just the first hundred feet, and the wind out here fills in whatever it likes overnight. So the route runs again at daybreak. A farm road already open when the sun finally comes over it is worth every one of those hours.
