In Greenfield the first light comes over the Palmertown ridge long after the plow has already passed, and that is the whole idea. Green Fields Lawn Care and Landscaping works the hill roads out of Greenfield Center — the long farm drives above Kaydeross Creek, the shaded stretches toward Lake Desolation — clearing snow and treating the ice that forms where the sun never quite reaches.
