Brothers Construction runs a storm the way a storm has to be run — early, then again, then once more when the wind fills the cut back in. Driveways opened wide enough to turn a car in, walks and steps taken down to the surface, salt laid where the melt will run and refreeze. Greenburgh's hills do not forgive a half-done driveway; a skim of ice on a downslope can eat somebody's whole morning. By the time the buses are moving, the drives along these roads are black pavement again.
