About Adam Dreher Contracting

In Ghent the farm driveways are long, the hayfields on either side collect the drifts, and the Taconic hills to the east go pink about the time the plowing is finished. Adam Dreher Contracting works those distances — drives that run a quarter mile to the house, turnarounds wide enough for a delivery truck, a path shoveled from the door to where the car sits, and salt where the shade keeps ice past noon. Storms come up the Hudson Valley and unload on this side of the county, so a night's route is often run twice before anyone is awake to see it. What matters is the moment a car pulls out onto Route 66 without hesitating at the end of the drive. Every account is plowed to the same shape each time, so the banks stay where they belong and the yard is still under there in April.
