About Starkie Brothers Custom Landscaping, Inc

By late September the oaks along the Route 110 corridor start letting go, and lawns near Republic Airport turn gold-flecked in the space of a week. Starkie Brothers Custom Landscaping, Inc works that turn of the calendar the way it works midsummer — regular mowing, trimming around beds and posts, edging, and cleanups that lift the leaf layer before it mats down. Many of the village's older properties grow grass under mature trees, which is its own patient kind of care. A lawn combed clean on an autumn afternoon, low light running across it, is a fine thing to leave behind. Farmingdale, Melville, Plainview and East Farmingdale are all on the schedule.
