Butternut Creek slips along the edge of East Syracuse, and a few miles east the water at Green Lakes turns that improbable blue every spring. Edwards Landscapes takes the village lawns and the yards running out toward the town line, with weekly mowing, trimming, edging along the walks, fertilizing, and the cleanups that bookend a Central New York growing season. Snow leaves this ground late and heavy, so the opening visit is half raking and half repair, coaxing green back into everything the plow and the salt shoved around.
