Tree Masters

About Tree Masters

Back in the wooded reaches of East Hampton the oaks close over the road and the lawns live in half shade, which is its own puzzle for grass. Tree Masters keeps those yards mowed and trimmed all summer, reading which patches get their four hours of sun and which never will. Then comes the second week of October, when the canopy lets go nearly all at once and a yard goes bronze overnight — that is cleanup season, rake and blower, until the lawn shows green again underneath. Cutting grass under old trees is slow, careful work, and the finished edge along a woodland drive is worth every pass. The reward is a clearing that looks deliberate in the middle of all those pines and oaks.
