The lighthouse at Point Gratiot has stood through both halves of a Chautauqua County year — the green half and the white one — and Turftenders Inc works them both. Warm months mean mowing, trimming, edging, mulched beds and seasonal cleanups when the grass wakes and again when it quits, keeping lawns even and their borders honest. Then the light shortens, the water starts making weather, and the same trucks come back with blades and salt for driveways, walks and lots. There is a real satisfaction in the handoff: the last leaves hauled out in November, the first plow route rolling in the dark a few weeks later. Same properties, same eye, two very different kinds of clean.
