The back roads that drop toward the Bozenkill are steep, shaded, and the last places in Duanesburg to give up their ice. Badolato Excavation plows driveways and lots through the winter, clears walks and steps, and lays down salt and sand where the pitch demands it. Storms on this plateau tend to arrive quietly and stack up overnight, which means most of the work happens between two and six in the morning by headlight and heater. Pushing back a long drifted drive until the gravel shows again is one of the better feelings the season hands out. Whoever comes out at seven should find it already done.
