Down where Fall Creek loosens out toward Freeville the soil is dark and forgiving, and the grass on those flats comes in ahead of the hill lawns every May. Garden Growers mows, trims and edges through the whole green stretch of the year and takes care of the cleanups at both shoulders of it. A yard cut at the right height holds its color into August instead of going to straw, and knowing that height for a given lawn is most of the craft. The rest is turning up when you said you would, week after week, with the blades sharp. Dryden hands out long light in June, and there is no better hour to be out working in it.
