About Seaway Valley Enterprises

Dickinson Center takes its winters wholesale — St. Regis River country, Adirondack foothills off to the south, and a January dark that gets going in mid-afternoon. Seaway Valley Enterprises runs the plows through it, clearing drives and lots, cutting the banks back and treating the ice that forms every time the sun makes a brief appearance. Franklin County snow stacks up rather than melts, so the work is as much about where it goes as about getting it moved. Walkways get shoveled and salted down to something a person can walk on in boots. When the thermometer sits at twenty below and the drive is open anyway, that is the entire point.
