October in Cuba turns the hayfields on the hills copper, and then one morning in November it turns them white. R D Brown Landscaping keeps a foot in both halves of that year — mowing, edging and mulching through the growing months, then plowing and sanding once the roads above the village begin to drift. The old canal bed and the Greenway hold their snow longer than anywhere else nearby, and the driveways along them tend to want a second pass. Cleanups bookend everything: beds opened in April, yards raked bare in November so the first hard frost lands on tidy ground. One place, two kinds of work, and a year that never really goes quiet.
