Central Clearing

About Central Clearing

At noon in February the brick fronts along Main Street throw a thin warmth back onto the sidewalk, and the courthouse lawn lies under a smooth white page. Central Clearing keeps that page from turning into a hazard — plowing drives and lots, clearing sidewalks to the concrete, spreading salt where the shade holds ice into the afternoon. Come May the same attention turns green: weekly mowing, trimmed edges along fence and curb, cleanups in spring and again in fall. The name says plainly what the work is, and the work is plain about it. Cortland looks best when its edges are kept, in either season.
