From the Rexford side the Mohawk sits wide and slow, and in October the whole river valley turns copper at once. Clark's Landscaping works that lower corner of Clifton Park where the ground tilts down toward the water — mowing through the green months, beds mulched and shaped, shrubs kept in bounds, then the long leaf season that follows the river wind. Clearing a yard in November is heavy, unglamorous work, and finishing one is among the better feelings in the trade. Come spring the same lawns take their first cut and the cycle opens again.
