Route 22 runs north through Clemons with Black Mountain on one side and the water of South Bay glinting through the trees on the other. Boondocks Excavation & landscaping LLC keeps the yards along that stretch — mowing, trimming, edging drives, and clearing the alders and saplings that crowd a driveway edge by August. Lawns out here are hand-made things, carved from woods and ledge, and they hold their shape only if somebody keeps at them. Done well, the grass runs even to the treeline and the driveway reads as a clean cut through green. Fall means raking the beds out and taking the leaves off before winter closes the season.
