About Dominick Amorosso

Circleville sits in the Wallkill valley with the Shawangunk ridge standing off to the west, and when a storm tracks up the coast the ridge goes white first. Dominick Amorosso is out ahead of the daylight after those nights, plowing driveways along Route 302 and the roads that thread away from it, clearing walks and laying salt on the slick spots. Orange County snow can come heavy and wet, the kind that loads a shovel and clings to a blade, and pushing it right takes patience more than hurry. The measure of a good night is a driveway open before the first car needs it and a path to the door with no guesswork in it. Storm after storm, that is the work.
