About Schavemaker Services LLC

At the north end of Cayuga Lake the wind has nothing to lean on, and by December it comes off open water carrying whatever the lake decides to send. Schavemaker Services LLC keeps to those hours — plowing driveways and lots around the village, cutting down to bare pavement, spreading salt so the first step out the door is a sure one. A squall can build over the water and be sitting on Route 90 within the hour, which is why the work starts early and stays ahead of it. There is real pride in a dooryard that looks settled before the coffee is poured: banks pushed back square, the walk shoveled its full width, the mailbox still standing. Out toward the marshes and the flat farm roads by the Seneca River, that is the whole job — meet the storm first, and leave the place easy to live in.
